This course is probably unlike any course you have ever had, so please take your earliest opportunity to browse the contents of this website.

Please make sure that you have purchased a notebook in which you can take notes regarding the experiments.  You should make sure that you have access to a computer for web access, as well as for word processing.  OSU maintains computer labs for those who choose to use them.

Please insure that you have purchased both volumes of McDermott's Physics By Inquiry, as we will be using both volumes during the semester. We will begin the semester with Astronomy by Sight and Light and Color, both of which are in Volume I.

Chuck's office hours are M-W-- 11:30 am - 1:20 pm. Ema's office hours will be updated in the syllabus, listed here and announced in class.  Ema will hold office hours in PS 054; Chuck's office hours will be held in his office (PS 349).

Feel free to utilize the computer in our classroom to check seating assignments, Homework assignments, to perform class-related activities, or to search the web. Please be sensitive to others' needs when using the computer.

This course has assigned lab partners, so please check the "Seating" page to find your partners.  Lab partners will change regularly to give students the opportunity to collaborate with many different partners during the semester. A rule of thumb regarding seating arrangements: we will change lab partner assignments when we change major content areas and approximately every three weeks.

This site will be the preferred method of making class announcements, and will change frequently. It is the student's responsibility to know appropriate Homework assignments, class activities, and seating arrangements. Please get in the habit of checking this site regularly before class.

We are glad to have you in class!
