ANNOUNCEMENTS
Check this box for the latest course information and class announcements.

15 April 2002
There is an error on the Project page regarding scheduling appointments with Chuck to discuss the Final Draft of your Project: you should schedule an appointment with him during the week prior to submitting the Final Draft (22-25 April 2002) if you would like to discuss the Project with him.

25 March 2002
The schedule page has been updated for the next two weeks, and you will note that Monday, 25 March 2002, is a "PoM catch-up day".  This means that your group will be held responsible for the stated checkout on Wednesday.  If your group needs additional time to get caught up, you should schedule your arrangements with either Becky or Chuck.

We will not be changing partners for the remainder of PoM, since the measurements made on the group of objects in PoM 9.1 will be used for the remainder of PoM.  However, you are encouraged to see if other members of the class are drawing the same conclusions from the data as you.

On Wednesday, we will discuss the semester Project.

25 February 2002
Chuck has a meeting during office hours today (at 11:30 am), so he will either be late to or not in office hours today.  If you need to see him today, please either email him or call his office.

22 February 2002
The schedule and seating pages have been updated for the next few weeks.  As seen on the schedule page, we will be skipping the Friday BEFORE Spring Break as a make-up for the extra class day used for the Midterm.

04 February 2002
The seating page has been updated, so please take the first half hour of class to find your new partners and get synched up with one another in the PoM material.  We will use this seating arrangement for the next three weks, with the exception of the times when we return to AbS.

16 January 2002
Chuck has a meeting today off campus over lunchtime, so he will not be in office hours today.

Becky's office hours have been set; they will be held Tuesdays from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm in PS 054.  Please be aware of our office hours so you can seek help before the Homework sets are due.

14 January 2002
This course is probably unlike any course you have ever had, so please take your earliest opportunity to browse the contents of the website.

Please make sure that you have purchased both volumes of the text, as well as a bound notebook in which you can take notes for the experiments.

Chuck's office hours are M-W-- 11:30 am - 1:20 pm. Becky's office hours will be updated in the syllabus, listed here and announced in class.  Becky will hold office hours in PS 054; Chuck's office hours will be held in his office (PS 149).

This course has assigned lab partners, so please check the "Seating" page to find your partners.  Lab partners will change regularly to give students the opportunity to collaborate with many different partners during the semester.

Note two features of the "Schedule" page: Progress Checks and Homework Checkpoints.  These give you an idea of where you and your group should be at the end of each day.  Progress Checks are not absolute requirements, but an indication of the pace set by the material.  If you have completed the section listed in each Wednesday's Homework Checkpoint, you should be prepared for the current week's homework assignment (usually due on Fridays).

This site will be the preferred method of making class announcements, and will change frequently.  Please get in the habit of checking this site regularly before class.

We are glad to have you in class!
